American blues chanteuse Shemekia Copeland never holds back. The daughter of legendary blues man Johnny Copeland, Shemekia’s first public performance was at the famed Cotton Club in Harlem when she was 10. Her instantly recognizable voice is sultry and assertive, capable of delivering every song with unparalleled honesty and passion. In addition to her nine albums and performances on national television and National Public Radio, as well as at festivals and concert halls all over the world, Shemekia has sung with Eric Clapton, Bonnie Raitt, Keith Richards, Carlos Santana, and B.B. King.
