COVID-19 Update

UPDATE FROM THE SJS PRESIDENT

Dear Bassment patron and/or member,

We are connecting with you today in response to the COVID-19 virus in Saskatoon and its impact on our venue and program. The well-being and health of our members and staff are always a priority. The following action is based on the guidelines and advice of health care professionals:

The Bassment will suspend operations immediately until further notice.

As a non-profit organization, the COVID-19 situation will have a tremendous financial impact. The Saskatoon Jazz Society is in a sustainable financial position in the short term, but relies on the revenue generated at The Bassment to fund all operations. Our members have always demonstrated a tremendous commitment to the SJS and we are working on ways in which you can support the Society during this difficult time.
I would like to thank artistic director Don Griffith, executive director Julie Dell, and all board members for processing this challenging circumstance. I am confident that our board members and staff will continue to dedicate their time and expertise to supporting the Saskatoon Jazz Society.
We will continue to monitor the situation and provide appropriate updates using this email account.
Please continue reading below for a message about refund information.

On behalf of the Board of Directors,

Dave Knight
President, Saskatoon Jazz Society

UPDATE FROM THE SJS ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

Dear Bassment patron and/or member,

Since our season has been suspended for the forseeable future, we will be issuing refunds for ticket purchases to those of you who have purchased tickets with your credit card to shows in March and April. The refund process has already begun. You will receive a refund confirmation email from Eventbrite and then your refund will be applied to your credit card 7-10 days after receipt of the email.

Unfortunately, at the moment, we cannot issue refunds to those of you who have purchased tickets with your bank card or with cash. We will hold your money for now and will eventually come up with a plan to get your refund to you. Since we are closed indefinitely, we ask for your patience.

At present, ticket sales for the remainder of our season have been halted. Since we do not know when we will re-open, we will delay refunds for shows scheduled in May and June.

If you have questions concerning your refund(s), please contact us at refunds@thebassment.ca. If you have any other questions, please contact us at info@thebassment.ca.

Thanks for reading.

Don Griffith
Artistic Director, Saskatoon Jazz Society
