Joe Callahan and Tim Campbell perform a soulful and spirited combination of folk, roots, and blues music with a strong jazz underpinning, much of it drawing on Joe’s material from his 3 CDs of original music, (Watching the Light, Street Level High, and Mystery). In addition to performing Joe’s original material, the duo covers Bruce Cockburn, Simon and Garfunkel, Joni Mitchell, and others.
Joe started performing professionally over 40 years ago and, in addition to recording his own material, has produced multiple live shows for radio (Handmade Music) and cable TV (Live is Where it Lives) as well as hosting and producing a live concert series called Night Kitchen Too which ran for 7 years in Belleville Ontario.
Tim Campbell has played in Western Canada for the past 24 years performing in a diverse range of musical venues and genres. Highlights include playing with his gypsy jazz group, Hot Club Saskatoon as well as The Bow Djangos and country recording artist Shane Yellowbird.
Joe and Tim have a propensity for improvisation and from their first moments rehearsing, a creative musical conversation began. They continue to develop an intuitive approach to their live performances.
