The brainchild of Vince Maccarone, Los Variants explores connections between diverse musical backgrounds, blending different cultural influences within a jazz setting. This 5-piece super band presents a seamless mosaic of international influences taking audiences on a musical journey around the world drawing from reggae, blues, jazz, Afrofunk, Flamenco, Middle Eastern, New Orleans, and Caribbean rhythms.
Los Variants showcases the talents of some of Canada’s top musicians: Louis Simao (accordion, and keys), Michael Occhipinti (guitar), Paco Luviano (bass) Chendy Leon (percussion), and Vince Maccarone (drums and percussion). Collectively, the members of Los Variants have won and been nominated for JUNO and Dora awards.
