The Fretless has toured and recorded together since 2012, winning multiple Canadian Folk Music Awards, Western Canadian Awards, and most recently, the 2017 JUNO Award for Instrumental Album of the Year. The quartet’s fresh approach is quickly gaining acclaim as it transforms fiddle tunes and folk melodies into intricate, beautiful, high-energy arrangements. Fretless features some of North America’s best roots string musicians: Trent Freeman (fiddle/viola), Ben Plotnick (fiddle/viola), Karrnnel Sawitsky (fiddle/viola), and Eric Wright (cello).
